Julie Says No band members

Julie Says No is a 4-piece group of experienced local musicians: (L-R) Nigel Houghton on guitar, Don Ault on drums, Julie Fanning on lead vocals, and Tim Knox on bass.

We have been performing in the DC area for years, playing venues such as Farm Brew LIVE, Delirium Cafe, World of Beer, Spanky’s Shenanigans, the Winery at Bull Run, Sinistral Brewing Co., Lost Rhino Brewing Co., and Lion & Bull, to name a few. Each of us brings our own spin to covers of songs by the likes of Susan Tedeschi, Alabama Shakes, Jimi Hendrix, North Mississippi Allstars, CCR and Gary Clark, Jr…among so many others. But we like to bring a bit of a gritty edge to a lot of the tunes we cover.

    Officer Down Memorial Ride/Poker Run

    Lion & Bull Restaurant
    5351 Merchants View Square
    Haymarket, VA 20169

This is the 6th Annual Officer Down Memorial Ride. The mission for the event is "to raise awareness and funding for ODMP (Officer Down Memorial Page), a non-profit organization which honors and remembers the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers nationwide." The funds go to programs that help raise awareness but also to help the families left behind by officers killed in the line of duty.

Julie Says No is honored to play this benefit. The poker run starts around 9:00am and ends back at Lion & Bull; we will play from 10:00 am to noon, while all the bikers eat, hang out and take part in the raffles and prizes. More info. is forthcoming and is located on their website and their Facebook page.

This is not only a worthwhile cause, it's a fun event regardless of whether you are on 2 wheels or 4 wheels. It's an outdoor party at Lion & Bull, with vendors, food and amazing riding skills showcased by police motor squad. The entire event runs from about 9:00 am until about 3:00 pm.
